Prime-Ark Freedom Blackberry
Prime-Ark Freedom Blackberry (Rubus 'Prime-Ark Freedom')
Prime-Ark Freedom Blackberry (Rubus 'Prime-Ark Freedom') is a thornless, primocane-fruiting blackberry cultivar bred for large, sweet fruit and ease of harvest. As one of the first thornless blackberries to produce on first-year canes, it offers multiple harvests per season and exceptional adaptability for home gardens and small orchards.
Distinctive Features
This upright, self-supporting blackberry grows 4 to 6 feet tall and produces firm, glossy black berries with excellent flavor. Unlike many traditional varieties, Prime-Ark Freedom fruits on both primocanes (first-year growth) and floricanes (second-year growth), extending the harvest window. Canes are smooth and thornless, making pruning and picking much easier. Berries ripen in midsummer with a potential for a second crop in fall under the right conditions.
