Lava Nugget Barberry
Lava Nugget Barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'SMBTM') is a striking, low-growing shrub that adds year-round color to the landscape. Its dense, compact habit features bright green foliage that turns a fiery orange-red in the fall. In spring, the new growth emerges with a vibrant red hue, adding another layer of visual interest to this hardy plant. Lava Nugget is also adorned with small, pale yellow flowers in the spring, followed by red berries that persist into the winter months. This easy-to-grow shrub is a great choice for borders, hedges, and mixed beds, where it provides excellent texture and color contrast.
