Fringetree
The Fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus) is a captivating deciduous tree native to eastern North America. It is known for its beautiful clusters of fragrant white flowers that adorn the branches in late spring to early summer, creating a stunning display. The delicate flowers have long, fringe-like petals, giving the tree its name. The foliage of the Fringetree is dark green and glossy, providing an attractive backdrop to the flowers. In the fall, the leaves turn shades of yellow, adding a touch of autumn color to the landscape. The Fringetree is a small to medium-sized tree that can be grown as a specimen plant or incorporated into mixed borders and landscapes. It prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. This tree is relatively low-maintenance and is generally tolerant of pests and diseases. Its elegant form, enchanting flowers, and seasonal interest make the Fringetree a beautiful addition to gardens and natural areas.
