Fireball Japanese Barberry
Fireball Japanese Barberry (Berberis thunbergii 'Fireball') is a small, deciduous shrub that is perfect for adding a pop of color to your landscape. With its deep red, almost purple foliage and thorny branches, Fireball is a standout in any garden. It is a slow-growing shrub, reaching only 2-3 feet in height and spread at maturity, making it a great choice for borders, rock gardens, and container plantings. In spring, it produces small yellow flowers that give way to bright red berries in late summer, providing food for birds and wildlife. Fireball barberry is easy to care for and is drought tolerant once established, thriving in full sun to partial shade. It is also deer resistant, making it an excellent choice for gardens in areas where deer are a problem.
