Dorothy Wycoff Andromeda
Pieris japonica 'Dorothy Wycoff' is an evergreen shrub that is prized for its showy, fragrant blooms and attractive foliage. It typically grows to a height of 4-6 feet and a width of 3-5 feet, with a dense, mounding habit. The new growth is a striking shade of pinkish-red, which gradually matures to a glossy dark green. In late winter and early spring, it produces clusters of fragrant white flowers that hang delicately from the branches. The blooms are followed by small, ornamental red berries that persist throughout the summer. Dorothy Wycoff Pieris is a popular choice for mixed borders, foundation plantings, and as a specimen plant in the landscape. It prefers well-drained soil and partial shade to full sun.
