Confucius Hinoki Cypress
Confucius Hinoki Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Confucius') is a slow-growing evergreen conifer with a unique, flattened, fan-shaped foliage that forms a striking, layered, and compact mound. Its leaves are yellow-green in the center and have a dark green, lacy, and fern-like border. It is a relatively small tree that can grow up to 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide over several decades. It is often used as an accent plant in rock gardens, containers, and small landscapes.
