Accolade Elm
The Accolade Elm (Ulmus 'Morton') is a deciduous tree known for its graceful and upright growth habit. It typically grows to a height of 50 to 60 feet with a spread of 35 to 45 feet. This elm variety has a rounded crown and dense foliage that provides ample shade. The leaves are dark green in summer and turn shades of yellow in the fall. The Accolade Elm is highly resistant to Dutch elm disease, a common disease that affects many other elm species. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil. This elm variety is known for its tolerance to urban environments, making it a suitable choice for street plantings, parks, and residential landscapes. Its ability to withstand pollution and adapt to various soil conditions contributes to its popularity as a low-maintenance and hardy tree. The Accolade Elm is valued for its attractive appearance, disease resistance, and overall durability.
