African Geranium
Pelargonium sidoides, commonly known as African Geranium or Umckaloabo, is a perennial herb native to South Africa. This plant is valued for its medicinal properties, particularly its roots, which are used in traditional medicine to treat respiratory infections, colds, and sore throats. Pelargonium sidoides has dark green, lobed leaves and produces small, dark purple to blackish-red flowers. It thrives in well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. In addition to its medicinal uses, African Geranium is also cultivated as an ornamental plant for its attractive foliage and flowers.
