Paeonia

Paeonia, or peony, is a long lived perennial favorite known for its large, romantic blooms, rich fragrance, and strong presence in the garden. Our peony collection includes traditional herbaceous varieties that die back in winter and return each spring, as well as tree and intersectional forms that offer woody structure, upright growth, and an extended bloom window. Flowers range from simple singles to full doubles in shades of white, blush, pink, coral, red, and bicolor, held on sturdy stems that are excellent for cutting and bringing indoors. Deep green foliage provides a lush backdrop for the rest of the border and often holds well into fall, so peonies earn their place even when they are not in bloom. Thriving in full sun and well drained soil in cooler to temperate climates, peonies are ideal for anchoring mixed borders, lining pathways, flanking entries, and creating classic cutting gardens where their blooms can serve as a seasonal focal point year after year.
