Declaration Lilac
The Declaration Lilac (Syringa x 'Declaration') is a deciduous shrub that produces fragrant clusters of deep magenta-pink flowers in mid-spring. The blooms are displayed on upright panicles that rise above the attractive green foliage. This lilac cultivar has a compact and rounded growth habit, reaching up to 6-8 feet tall and wide at maturity. The foliage turns yellow in the fall before dropping, adding additional interest to the landscape. 'Declaration' lilac prefers full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil.
