Copper Beech
The Copper Beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Cuprea') is a cultivar of the European Beech tree known for its striking copper-colored foliage. It is a deciduous tree that typically grows to a height of 40 to 60 feet, forming a dense, rounded canopy. The leaves of the Copper Beech emerge in spring with a rich, deep purple color that gradually transforms to a beautiful coppery-bronze hue as summer progresses. The tree's foliage provides a dramatic and vibrant display throughout the growing season. In the fall, the leaves may turn shades of orange and brown before eventually falling off. The Copper Beech prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils. It is a slow-growing tree that requires regular watering and occasional pruning to maintain its shape. With its eye-catching foliage and majestic presence, the Copper Beech is often used as a focal point in landscapes, parks, and larger gardens, adding a touch of elegance and color to the surroundings.
