Yaku Prince Rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Yaku Prince')

Yaku Prince Rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Yaku Prince') is a compact evergreen shrub also known as Yaku Prince Yak Rhododendron. A hybrid derived from Rhododendron yakushimanum, it is known for its tidy form, attractive silver-backed foliage, and deep pink blooms that brighten shaded gardens in spring.

Distinctive Features

Yaku Prince grows slowly to about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, forming a rounded, symmetrical mound. Its dark green leaves are densely arranged and covered in fine indumentum, creating a soft, velvety look with silver undersides. In mid to late spring, deep pink buds open into rosy-pink flowers that gradually lighten with age, providing weeks of color and contrast against the foliage.
