Vaccinium angustifolium 'Brunswick'
Vaccinium angustifolium 'Brunswick' is a cultivar of the lowbush blueberry, which is native to eastern North America. This cultivar was developed in the 1960s by the University of Maine and is known for its high yield and large fruit size. The shrub itself is low-growing, reaching only 6 to 12 inches tall, and spreading up to 2 feet wide. The leaves are small, glossy green, and turn a brilliant red in the fall. The flowers are white or pink, and the fruit is a small, dark blueberry that is larger than those of most other lowbush blueberries. 'Brunswick' blueberries are known for their sweet flavor and are often used in baked goods and jams. They prefer acidic, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. They are often grown commercially in Maine and other parts of the northeastern United States.
