Whitespire Birch
The Whitespire Birch (Betula populifolia 'Whitespire') is a popular ornamental tree known for its distinctive white bark and graceful form. It grows to a mature height of 40-50 feet with a spread of 25-35 feet, making it an ideal choice for small to medium-sized landscapes. The tree's attractive white bark peels to reveal shades of cream, tan, and brown, providing visual interest year-round. In the spring, the tree produces small, brownish-yellow catkins that dangle from the branches, while the summer foliage consists of bright green, triangular-shaped leaves that turn a lovely yellow in the fall. The Whitespire Birch is a hardy and adaptable tree that prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. It is a great choice for use as a specimen tree, in group plantings, or as a shade tree in smaller landscapes. The unique bark and elegant form of the Whitespire Birch make it a standout addition to any garden or landscape.
