Here we are again, another year almost gone by. It seems the older I get the quicker the years pass by and we can’t slow time down. Or can we? It seems to me that there are moments in every day that should be appreciated. Perhaps it’s a sunrise or sunset. Fresh cut grass? The scent of lilac in the air? A walk in the park, a hike in the woods or a friendly exchange with a neighbor while strolling down the road. The laughs shared in a kitchen or a work place that lighten up your day. The last rose to bloom late into fall usually elicits a warm feeling to me.
Thanksgiving is a slam dunk. Friends and family gather together to share conversations and laughs, making memories to treasure for years to come. Although I understand the statement “I can’t wait”, I typically beg to differ, as the time leading up to a planned event should not be rushed, but rather appreciated. We need to give thanks for so many positive things in our lives and I suppose what I’m suggesting is to be appreciative of the time we have each day and not rush our lives away. It might be the most subtle thing that you pass by, I encourage you to look for it and appreciate it. Take the time, it’s that important and maybe, just maybe we might be able to slow things down a bit.
To all of you, we wish a Happy Thanksgiving. May you have a memory-filled day that you can carry with you for years to come.
