Golden Nugget Dwarf Japanese Barberry, also known as Berberis thunbergii 'Monlers', is a compact deciduous shrub with a mounding habit. This slow-growing cultivar typically grows up to 2 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for small gardens or containers. Its bright golden-yellow foliage retains its color throughout the growing season and turns a beautiful orange-red in the fall. Golden Nugget produces tiny yellow flowers in spring, followed by red berries in the fall that provide a source of food for birds. This low-maintenance shrub is easy to grow and can tolerate a wide range of soils and growing conditions.
